Tony Henney
HEAD COACH
Coach Henney brings a new era to Dolphin Football, a whole community, culture, and passion. In 14 seasons as a head coach at the high school and collegiate levels (Cal Poly SLO), his teams have recorded 100 wins, 3 CIF titles, and 8 Coach of the Year Awards. Twenty-five of his players have played Division 1 football, and countless other Division 2 and 3 players. In his debut season at DHHS, Dolphin Football reached the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade and has led the team to the first league title in the program's history.
He and his wife Tess, of 15 years, welcomed their son Lucas in 2021.

Ryan McHale / Defensive Coordinator / Defensive Line
Coach McHale brings thirteen years of varsity football coaching experience to the Dana Hills program in addition to playing experience at Fountain Valley High School and San Jose State, where he played Linebacker for Coach Dick Tomey.
He currently teaches English, Social Science, and Health and coaches the Boys and Girls Track & Field at DHHS during the off-season.

Mark Restelli / Safeties
Entering his first season as a Dana Hills Coach, Mark Restelli brings football experience from both the collegiate and professional levels. A Santa Margarita graduate, Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo while playing for four years at Safety. From there, he went on to play four years in both the CFL and NFL and ultimately suffered a career-ending foot injury that required four surgeries over three years to get his foot back to healthy, working condition.
Following his football career, Mark started several businesses in various industries and continued to pursue his interest in health and fitness by coaching and mentoring many young athletes.
Mark has competed twice in CrossFit Regionals and several other local CrossFit competitions. His training philosophy uses a very broad knowledge base across multiple fitness disciplines. He believes that it is best to be as well-rounded as possible, so he incorporates a wide range of fitness styles into his programming, with the goal of challenging his athletes to achieve feats they never thought possible.

Rocky Brown / Receivers / JV Offensive Coordinator
Coach Brown, a proud Dana Hills Football Alumni, was the anchor of the O-line at Center. His journey took him to a National Championship at Saddleback College and then to USC as a wide receiver for Coach John Robinson and Coach Paul Hackett. His roots at Dana Hills remain a significant part of his journey.
Entering his 23rd year as a PE teacher at Niguel Hills Middle School, he takes great pride in teaching young men and women the game of football and helping them develop their character as young adults so that they can contribute to society well after their playing days have ended.

Kenison Poching / Linebackers / JV Coordinator
Coach Poching began coaching his son Matthew’s freshman team at Dana Hills in 2015. Since then, he’s coached both his sons’ Jarod and Matthew on Varsity and continued as the Linebacker coach for all levels after they graduated. His daughter Gianna also attended Dana where she was on the soccer team all four years. His eldest son, Kenison Jr., played football at Buena Park HS.
Coach Poching played college football at Fullerton JC and Chapman University as middle linebacker.
He is the proud father of Kenison Jr., Jarod, Gianna and Matthew Poching and is happily engaged to his fiancé, Cristina.

Charles Smith III / Cornerbacks
Coach Smith brings 16 years of coaching experience to Dana Hills. He and his teams have won several titles at the youth and high school level throughout his coaching career.
Coach Smith wrestled at Arizona State University where he met his wife of 30 years, Venicha. They have two sons, Morgan (14), an incoming Sophomore transfer and Jayden (21), who played for Dana Hills for four seasons and graduated in 2018.

Mike Marowitz / Strength & Conditioning / Linebackers
Coach Marowitz, a Dana Hills Alumni, played from 2002 to 2006. He was a three-year starter at linebacker and two-time All-South Coast League. He went on to lead Orange Coast College as team captain. He finished his college football career at Kansas Wesleyan University and graduated with a BA in Sports Management.
Outside of his alma mater, Dana Hills, Coach Marowitz is deeply involved in the local community. He serves as a personal trainer and Strength Coach, dedicating his time and expertise to the development of young athletes in the area.

Carter Browning / Running Backs
Carter Browning is entering his second season as a Dana Hills High School coach. A 2011 JSerra Catholic High School graduate, Carter was a three-year varsity starter at both tight end and linebacker. He continued his football career at Menlo College, playing fullback until the program was discontinued. Carter later completed his bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Cal State Fullerton.

Randy Reynoso / O Line
Coach Reynoso is entering his first year with Dana Hills Football and is excited to add to the program's recent success. In Reynoso's early years, he played for legendary High School football coach Marijon Ancich and was part of a St. Paul High School football team that was ranked 2nd in the nation. He followed his playing days by coaching at St Paul at all levels and was part of a staff that won the 1981 "Big Five" conference CIF Championship. Reynoso recently coached at Crean Lutheran High School and El Toro High School. Coach helped El Toro to a league championship in the rough Sea View League in his first full season with the Chargers. Randy has amassed over 20 years of coaching youth sports.
He is currently in private business and is the proud father of (4), Daughters Erica, Dina, and Jillian, and son Randall (three of whom are educators and coaches in their own right), in addition to 12 wonderful grandchildren.

Joe Murray / O Line
Coach Murray played at Loyola High School for longtime Loyola great Coach Steve Grady and was a member of the 1975 National Championship team.
Joe then played at USC under John Robinson from 1978 to 1982. He appeared in two Rose Bowls in 1979 and 1980, the Fiesta Bowl in 1982, and the National Championship in 1981.
After a successful college career, Joe played for the Indianapolis Colts & Anaheim Rams in the NFL and the Oakland Invaders in the USFL.
In 2018, Joe began to coach the varsity O-Line at Loyola High School in Los Angeles for six years and is excited as he enters his first year here at Dana Hills High School.
He currently lives in Moulton Ranch with his wife, Debbie, and has two grown sons, Tyler & Drew.

Max Nikolenko / Athletic Trainer
Max is in his 15th year as the Certified Athletic Trainer at Dana Hills High School. He has also been a sports medicine instructor in the classroom for the past 13 years.
Max graduated from Chapman University in 2008 with a bachelor's in science and played four years of football. He continued his education at Cal State University, Fullerton, where he received his master's of science in kinesiology in 2010 while being a graduate assistant certified athletic trainer, working primarily with men's soccer and men's basketball. Shortly after graduating, he found his home here at Dana Hills.
